Ever wondered if a simple number could spark a meaningful connection? My favorite number is 27, and it’s taken on new significance through an unexpected encounter in my Mom’s Softball league. Every Monday, I relish the opportunity to meet and connect with women from my community—no strings attached, just pure camaraderie on the field.

This week, I noticed someone from the opposing team wearing number 27. Post-game, as tradition has it, many of us head to Saw Mill Tavern (thanks to @berry.rebecca.j ‘s leadership!!), not just to unwind, but to genuinely connect with one another. It’s not about sticking to familiar faces; it’s about the open invitation to meet someone new.

There, I struck up a conversation with my “#27” counterpart @runrobinrun127 . As we shared stories, I learned about an initiative she leads—a business designed to empower women with autism by teaching them business skills (@yesshecaninc). I had unknowingly come across her business years ago, deeply moved by its mission and the people it supports. Now, here I was, discovering a chance to contribute to something I had admired from afar, all because we shared a favorite number.

This experience is a testament to the power of small connections. So, the next time you find a common thread with someone, no matter how trivial it seems, share it. These small moments of connection can lead to great things. They open doors, broaden our horizons, and sometimes, they align us with causes that resonate deeply with our values. Share freely, connect openly—because the joy of connection benefits us all.
